Non-Surgical Facelifts – What You Need To Know
Non-surgical facelifts, often referred to as a ‘liquid facelift’, is a combination injectable treatment to treat the whole face.
Who is a liquid facelift most suited for?
- Those who have undergone age-related changes overtime
- Individuals who do a lot of physical exercise or have experienced significant weight loss, and have lost facial volume
- Those who generally have a tired or sad appearance would be a good candidates for this treatment
- The goal of a liquid facelift is to restore facial support, ultimately giving a more youthful and healthy appearance. The best part about a non surgical facelift is we are only replacing what has been lost through the ageing process, which means you will still look like yourself, just fresher and more rejuvenated.
There is no set specification for a liquid lift, as the treatments performed will depend on your own individual needs. A liquid facelift can involve injectable treatment to any area of the face such as the temples, brow, cheeks, lips, jawline and jowls. A favourite technique that we like to use is the 8-point lift, originally devised by Dr Mauricio De Maio, a world-famous plastic surgeon and aesthetic injector from Brazil. The 8-point lift combines various soft tissue filler techniques, using a cannula and needle, to strategically lift and structure the face. The technique has a lot of versatility and can be adapted to suit different genders and ethnicity.
Consultation
During the consultation, your aesthetic clinician will devise a bespoke treatment plan for your needs and complete the treatment over one or multiple treatment sessions. Specific points of the face are treated to create an overall lifting effect, with the aim of treatment to be precise and minimally invasive.
Downtime
Unlike surgical treatment, there is no anticipated downtime. Any redness and swelling typically resolve in the hours following treatment. As with any injectable treatment, it is advised to keep the treated area clean and make up free for 24 hours. Specific and detailed aftercare advice will be given following your treatment and routine follow up is advised 2-3 weeks following your treatment.
Results are immediate with soft tissue filler and it can last as long as 18 months or more, depending on the type of filler used.
